Wendy Jane Crewson was born May 9, 1956 in Hamilton, Ontario, the daughter of June Doreen (née Thomas) and Robert Binner Crewson.
Wendy Crewson was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She attended Westwood Collegiate and was first exposed to acting when she performed in The Boy Friend in grade 10.
She attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where she won the prestigious Lorne Greene Award for outstanding work in the theater. She then studied at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
She has been married to actor Michael Murphy since 1988 and they have two children.
She joined the cast of ReGenesis in 2007 playing Dr. Rachel Woods. She also guest starred in the first eight episodes of the third season of 24, playing Dr. Anne Packard, personal physician and love interest to the President.
She is also known for her role in as Laura Miller in The Santa Clause movies with Tim Allen playing Santa Clause. She appeared in all three of the Santa Clause movies starting with the first movie in 1994 and appearing in the third series in 2006.
She has also appeared in several films including Mazes and Monsters (1982) as Kate Finch, Skullduggery (1983) as Barbara and the intense movie Heartsounds (1984) as Judy. She was also in Mark of Cain in 1985 as Dale, A Hobo's Christmas in 1987 as Laurie and in 1991 she was in The Doctor as as Dr. Leslie Abbott. In 1997 she played First Lady Grace Marshall in Air Force One. She was in Bicentennial Man in 1999 as Ma'am Martin. In What Lies Beneath in 2000 she was Elena. In 2004 she was in the Clearing as Louise Miller. In 2007 she appeared as Mary Stanton in The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.
